Fakovitrectomy
Fakovitrectomy is one-step operation of cataract by phacoemulsification with vitrectomy. This is the case when the patient’s lens has become cloudy or when it does not allow the vitrectomy to be properly carried out. Your doctor decides whether it is a short, medium or long vitrectomy.
Vitrectomy is a surgery of the eye, which involves mechanical removal of irregularity from the vitreous (to stabilize), restoration or improvement of retinal function. In many cases, vitrectomy treatment is the ultimate way to regain or maintain vision in many eye diseases that until recently were considered incurable. The procedure is performed after the patient is given local anaesthesia, which involves injection of anaesthetic in the area of eyeball. The operation usually takes between 45 minutes and 2 hours. It is an intraocular procedure. Vitrectomy is carried out using the newest, least invasive 23G, 25G and 27G techniques.

Przebieg zabiegu
The operation usually takes between 45 minutes and 2 hours. It is an intraocular procedure. Three small incisions of the sclera are made (approx. 0.05 mm long) and the surgical instruments are inserted into the eyes. After a mechanical cutout changed vitreous body, depending on the clinical condition, the eyeball is filled with sterile liquid to hold the retina (over time, the liquid is transformed spontaneously into an intraocular fluid) or with air or a mixture of air and special expansion gas, silicone oil. The treatment is performed using the newest, least invasive 23G, 25G and 27G techniques. The operation is performed under the one-day procedure.
